Policies

Arriving At School

School begins promptly at 7:50am(8:50am on Wednesdays) . East playground supervision begins at 7:40a.m. each morning. For the safety of your child, please do not allow children to arrive at school prior to 7:40 a.m. When students arrive in the morning, they should wait outside in their grade level's designated area, dressed appropriately for the weather. The only students who may enter the building before the bell rings are those going to breakfast (served from 7:40 a.m. - 7:50(8:40am -8:50am on Wednesdays  a.m. ) Breakfast eaters must remain in the cafeteria until the 7:50 a.m. bell rings.

During severe weather, High Peaks will send out text/email messages along with flying the green flag which means, students are to be dropped off in the cafeteria.

Hug and Go/Parking Lot Instructions

Parents do not get out of your car for any reason in the Hug and Go line.

Do not let your kids out of the car before the designated place in the Hug and Go line.

You cannot make a left turn into the Hug and Go line on Aurora. It is illegal and dangerous.

Pull all the way forward as close to the front door of the school as possible when dropping off or picking up

Parking in the lot fills early. If you park in the lot, you must walk your child across the lot. Do not drop off your child in the parking lot.

We kindly request that parents model community safety by using the designated crosswalks. 

Attendance Procedures

Regular attendance is an essential part of a student’s education. Students are expected to be in attendance every school day as required by Colorado state law and district policy.

If your child will be late or absent, please notify the school office . Notification can be done by leaving a message on the 24-hour attendance line (720-561-6502).
